Contact the administrators
Every message is read by a person. Pick the address that fits, and your message reaches the right people without a detour.
Outages
A service run by the administrators is down, slow or behaving strangely. Check the status page first; if it is not listed there, tell us what you tried to reach, from where and when.

Abuse
Spam, phishing, malware, attacks or anything else harmful coming from our hosts or using our names. How to report.

Security
A vulnerability in a service we run. Please read the rules first: there is no bug bounty.

Legal
Copyright notices, personal data, disputes about names and requests from authorities. How each is handled.

Which address to use
These four cover everything. If you are not sure which one fits, pick the closest: we pass messages between us, and nothing gets lost because it arrived at the wrong door. Proposals, commercial or otherwise, go to proposals@ethdns.com; see Proposals.
Before you write
- Check the status page. If the problem is already known, it is listed at status.ethdns.com.
- One topic, one address. Sending the same message to every address does not make it faster. It makes it slower, because several people start on the same thing.
- Say what, where and when. What happened, the address, hostname or IP concerned, and the time with its time zone. UTC is easiest.
- Send evidence as text. Full mail headers, log lines, the exact error message. Screenshots help, but text can be searched and checked.
- Write in English. Plain text is fine; there is no need for formatting.
- Never send secrets. No passwords, keys or tokens. We will never ask for them.
What to expect
- A person reads every message. There are no automatic confirmations and no ticket numbers.
- There is no service-level agreement. That is a matter of honesty, not a lack of responsibility: we do not promise guarantees we could not stand behind. We stay in touch as far as we can, do our best, and answer as soon as we reasonably can; outages and active abuse come first.
- Replies come only from @ethdns.com addresses. We never ask for passwords or payment. A message that does is not from us.
- Some messages are read and left without an answer: bulk offers, link and advertising proposals, and reports without substance.
Policies
How reports and requests are handled is described in detail on separate pages: Abuse, Security, Legal, Privacy and Standards. The machine-readable security contact is in security.txt.
