In short
- Nothing is collected without asking. The only exception is the standard log every web server keeps, described below.
- No cookies, and so no cookie banner: there is nothing to agree to. Not for analytics, not for advertising, not “for a better experience”.
- No tracking or analytics scripts, ours or anyone else’s.
- No third-party requests. Fonts, images and scripts come from our own server.
- Nothing is sold, data included.
This page covers the website ethdns.com and mail sent to @ethdns.com addresses.
What the server logs
Like every web server, ours writes a line for each request it receives. The line contains:
- the IP address the request came from;
- the date and time;
- the page or file requested, and the result (for example 200 or 404) with its size;
- the referring page, if your browser sends one;
- the browser’s user agent string.
The pages are served directly from a server we operate. No content delivery network or proxy sits between you and this site.
Cookies and scripts
This site sets no cookies and uses no local storage, which is why it never asks you to accept any. There are no accounts, no logins and no forms. The only script on the site adds “Copy” buttons next to email addresses and opens the menu on phones; everything works without it.
When you write to us
If you write to an @ethdns.com address, we receive your address, your message and the usual technical headers of an email. We use them to deal with your message and to keep a record of it.
Mail to our addresses is received through Cloudflare Email Routing and delivered to a mailbox hosted by Google. Both handle it under their own privacy terms. We keep correspondence as long as it is useful for the matter and for our records, and we delete it on request unless we still need it for an open abuse, security or legal case.
Reports about others
When you report abuse or send a notice about a project of a third party, we may pass the relevant parts of your report to the owner of that project, so they can deal with it. If you do not want your name or address passed on, say so in the report and we will leave them out. Copyright notices are an exception: the owner may need to know who is making the claim in order to respond.
Third-party projects
Websites and services that we host for others have their own privacy practices. Their owners decide what is collected and why, and are responsible for it. If you have a question about such a project, ask its owner first. If you cannot reach them, write to legal@ethdns.com and we will pass your request on.
Your requests
Write to legal@ethdns.com with any question about data we hold about you. Tell us what to look for: an email address, an IP address and a date range work best.
If this page changes, the date below changes with it.
